Aircraft groundings may need to be updated to reflect changes in repair timelines, additional issues discovered, or corrected information. This guide shows how to edit existing grounding records.

Editing a Grounding

Follow these steps to modify an aircraft grounding:
  1. Navigate to Aircraft Groundings
    • Go to the Aircraft page in the administrator portal
    • Select the aircraft with the grounding you want to edit
    • In the aircraft sidebar, click on “Groundings”
  2. Locate the Grounding
    • Review the groundings table to find the specific grounding record
    • Groundings are typically listed chronologically
    • Active groundings may be highlighted or shown at the top
  3. Access Edit Options
    • On the row of the grounding you want to edit, locate the ellipsis button (⋯) on the right side
    • Click the ellipsis button to open the options dropdown menu
  4. Open Edit Mode
    • From the dropdown menu, click “Edit”
    • The grounding edit form will open

Editable Fields

  1. Update Grounding Information Grounding Date
    • Modify the start date if the grounding began earlier or later than originally recorded
    • Use the date picker to select the correct date
    Expected Return Date (if applicable)
    • Update the estimated date when the aircraft will return to service
    • Adjust based on repair progress or new information
    Grounding Reason
    • Edit the category or type of grounding
    • Examples: Maintenance, Defect, Inspection, Accident Investigation
    Details/Description
    • Update the detailed description of why the aircraft is grounded
    • Add additional information discovered during repairs
    • Clarify or correct the original grounding reason
  2. Save Changes
    • Review all modified information for accuracy
    • Click “Save” to apply the changes
    • The grounding record will be updated immediately
