Flight logs can be attached to bookings to create a complete record of the actual flight activity. This process connects your scheduled bookings with the real flight data captured during operations.

Automatic vs Manual Attachment

FlightWise uses intelligent algorithms to automatically attach flight logs to bookings when certain criteria are met (matching aircraft, timeframes, and participants). When automatic attachment doesn’t occur, you can manually attach flights using the process below.

Attaching Flight Logs

  1. Open the Booking
    • Click on the booking item in the timetable to open the booking details modal
  2. Set Booking Status (Recommended)
    • If the booking is completely finished, update the status to “Completed”
    • This helps maintain accurate records and triggers any completion workflows
  3. Access the Flights Tab
    • Click the “Flights” tab in the booking modal
    • This shows any currently attached flights and attachment options
  4. Attach Flights
    • If no flights are automatically attached, click the “Attach Flight” button
    • The system will display potential flight matches

Suggested Tab

  • Smart Matching: FlightWise displays the best matching flights based on:
    • Aircraft used
    • Flight timing
    • Participants involved
    • Flight duration
  • Quick Selection: Most relevant flights appear first for easy selection

All Tab

  • Complete List: View all available flight logs
  • Manual Search: Find specific flights when suggested matches aren’t suitable
  • Filter Options: Search by date, aircraft, or other criteria

Completing the Attachment

  1. Select Flight(s)
    • Check the checkbox next to the flight log(s) you want to attach
    • Multiple flights can be selected for complex bookings
  2. Save Changes
    • Click “Save” to confirm the flight attachment
    • The booking will now display the linked flight data

Multiple Flight Support

Bookings support attachment of multiple flight logs for complex operations:
  • Land-Away Flights: Attach both outbound and return flight legs
  • Cross-Country Training: Link multiple flight segments of extended training
  • Multi-Stop Flights: Associate all flight legs of a journey with stops
